In June of 2019, we started construction on a residential home to serve as a manor house at a large property in Loudoun County, VA.
Our biggest decision on this project was determining the placement of the home. We wanted to make sure the home was positioned well and provided a commanding view of the property. We eventually decided on a spot with some elevation that provided a 360 view of the grounds.
The owner did not want an especially large square footage for the home but did want to incorporate shared space for visiting family. To accomplish this, we included a large, open kitchen, multiple fireplaces, and a large deck within our layout designs. Our design approach was to incorporate natural light, exposed wood and reclaimed brick and stone to make the home feel inviting and comfortable.
The result is a 5 bedroom / 8 bed home that can easily house the extended family and has appeal across seasons.
Complete with an adjoining 3 car garage and the home is perfect for vacationers and family stays.
